So, it is often alleged that people with calibre and creativity are seldom given due recognition. Even in this golden era of digital revolution, many an avatar, whether it be in films, arts, sports or media, is being created to help accomplish the ulterior motives of the self-centred elite. Further, it is a cakewalk for a selected few to reach the zenith of name and fame overnight irrespective of their versatility. It is in this context the need of a comprehensive discussion on this contentious issue has gained momentum. Therefore, the essay sheds light on the intricacies of celebrity status sans talents and accomplishments. .

To a layman, celebrity status is always the epitome of excellence which is regarded as the benchmark of distinguishing the real from the unreal. Nevertheless, paparazzi, gossip column-enthusiasts and panels of TV channels pretty often create celebrities from void in order to gratify their vested interests. Whilst the magnum opus of renowned artists and music composers goes unnoticed, those with mediocre skills are extolled. The limelight showered on the latter undermines the very meaning and significance of earnest endeavours of the bona fide celebrities who incessantly toil for the sake of safeguarding the masterpieces. In brief, the affluence and influence of the VIPs quite often are the yardsticks to judge the worth of the so-called stardom.

To continue, whenever awards are announced, pandemonium and scathing criticism have been the norm of the day precisely because of the biased verdict of the jury. Unless this shameful and pernicious tendency is curbed, grave implications could surface: a nation's cultural and traditional values are at stake; while the morale of the phoney performers surges, that of the genuine ones diminishes, which annihilates the very fabric of the society; the quintessence of one's natural ability will be at a low ebb. Hence it is high time that bold initiative be taken by all concerned to promote and protect true talents and to shun the bogus ones.

Before concluding the lengthy discourse on the aforementioned theme, which is undoubtedly a bone of contention, a word of caution is deemed to be relevant and salient: if the government is in quest of quality and sublime standard, they ought to allay all apprehensions of the public by vetoing the sinister designs of corrupt officialdom and of moneyed lobby, thus disseminating the good news that the sine qua non for one's supreme success is talents and accomplishments.
